Biography
 |
| After
owning and selling "Glass Concepts I and
II" in Arkansas, I chose the name "Weeping Willow" for my new
studio in Kentucky. Why Weeping Willow? In 1914 Grandfather Tobias Frey used
his initials and created and registered the western brand "Bar Quarter Circle/Quarter
Circle" for his Wyoming livestock. Grandma Nellie Shaunessy Frey thought the
name too lengthy, and unofficially renamed the brand Weeping Willow, which has stayed in
our family for 100 years. For nearly 20 years I have been a Stained Glass Artisan designing
and building installations for my clients. After receiving a degree from Western Kentucky
University in the Visual Arts and receiving training from a former Pilchuck School
instructor I began incorporating my painting skills while fusing glass into panels
and into individual fused glass art pieces. I also enjoy painting with oil on
canvas and board often starting with a cold wax base to add texture and design.
Generally my landscape paintings are scenes from my home in Wyoming. The signature I
use on my paintings and glasswork is simply "Nett," my childhood nickname.
